I’m very much looking forward to attending Wine Paris next week and meeting a number of Champagne houses at this unique and iconic wine event in the French capital.
The list of exhibitors is, in my opinion, far too long to even contemplate seeing half of them over three days 😉 — though I’m certainly not complaining, as that’s very much part of the fun. Given the sheer size of the venue and how spread out the targeted stands can be, I’ll likely skip the masterclasses and instead focus on running marathons between tastings 😅.
I’ve selected a handful of Champagne houses that I feel are absolute priorities, but even that is proving challenging when factoring in distances, foot traffic, and a few meetings already scheduled here and there.
So, I’ve decided to ease up, slow down, follow my nose, and go with the flow 😊
After all, this is Champagne we’re talking about — why stress?
“Il faut laisser le temps au temps,” as the French say — let time take its course. A fitting expression, and one that resonates perfectly with winemaking, and perhaps most of all with the Champagne ageing process itself.
